Our road trip took a nice, peaceful, quiet pause – wait! It wasn’t peaceful or quiet – because my entire family met in Colorado, where we’ve vacationed as a family many times before, though this time we number 26. People. So no peace and quiet, but lots and lots of fun. I am looking at these photos many months later, and they speak to the incredible memories that trip gave us.
Our accommodations couldn’t be beat – we were 9000 feet above sea level along a beautiful lake.
There was tie-dye-making! Even my grandmother joined the fun.
Remember that we all caught lice before our trip? Yeah, I still needed to check for nits. Good times.
There were many moments of bonding in the beautiful outdoors.
We were rustic, be we still had wii dance! Yeah! Best performance: Gino as Patrick Swayze in DD.
We hiked and hiked! This was a small excursion with only a few of us… Seriously. Most of the group stayed back at the cabins.
Our youngest cousin duo proved that they will be a force to be reckoned with in a few years…
We played beauty shop! Lots of girls with pretty fingers and toes.
Many, many treasure hunts and photo opps. This setting is incredible. Can you find my parents? Here they are, with all 14 grandkids.
We all enjoyed active time. Leo acquired many bruises and a bloody nose.
I’m related to everyone in this photo. Matt and I are sitting on the rock. Our kids are wearing red. But, what difference does it make? We all look alike..
By golly, there were games. And drinks.
Plenty of time to show off the tie-dye. Had to represent. For Oregon.
And no, we didn’t all get along all of the time.
But mostly, it was a blast. We were silly and exuberant.
We were chatty over mealtimes.
And there were lots of magical moments across generations. So grateful for this vacation. I love my family.
I hope to enjoy many more memories here in the years to come.
