Oh, all that pampering from my birthday month must have led to complete laziness on the part of this bloggy-blogger. Or it could be it is already July, and it has been a glorious summer. So I’ve taken some time off. Here are some photos from May 2012, which will be remembered as an incredible transfer of seasons in Portland.
We rode bikes.
We played in the backyard and many of our neighborhood parks.
It was even hot enough for the pool one afternoon! Well, the pool is actually heated with water from the basement sink, but it still counts :).
For Mother’s Day, my dear esposo packed me an adventure basket: a Northwest Forest Pass, two kites, a trail route to Wahclella Falls, a bottle of wine, and an orchid. Well, the last two items were just for me, but I shared the wine. Best Mother’s Day gift ever! So we hit the trail, and my, was it beautiful.
We hadn’t been hiking with the kids since before Leo was born. I miss it! The kids actually stayed on the trail and had enough stamina for the 2-mile loop. And so did we. Snacks were key, and throwing rocks in the creek was an added bonus.
After the hike we were off to Hood River to fly those kites.
Summer is just around the corner! Everything is growing – irises, kids, Dean’s hair…
